WAITING FOR THE NIGHT

Darkness is a condition of altered visibility. It is not a verdict.

A thing may be present and still unavailable to the present view. Night changes what can be seen. It does not, by itself, establish what has happened beyond the limit of sight.

DARKNESS ≠ ABSENCE
UNSEEN ≠ NONEXISTENT
INCOMPLETE PRESENTATION ≠ COMPLETED MEANING

Waiting for the Night names the interval in which relation cannot yet be resolved. Desire, silence, projection, and faith may all occupy that interval. None of them finishes it.

What the work leaves unresolved here is not a mood. It is a boundary:

Appearance may attract without disclosing.
Suffering may be visible without explaining its cause.
A represented figure may be approached without the approach becoming authority.
Speech may damage a relation by completing what the view has not earned.
Disclosure may occur and still leave the matter unresolved.

SOMBRA does not restore what the night withholds.
It refuses to let the edge of sight become the edge of the world.

THE ARTIFACT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE OFFICE.
THE OFFICE DISCLOSES A RELATION TO THE ARTIFACT.

SAME ARTIFACT ≠ SAME RELATION
SHARED REFERENCE ≠ SHARED FUNCTION

What the relation makes possible belongs elsewhere.
